Introduction
What is Feng Shui?
Feng Shui means
“wind & water” and is the art
of living in harmony with the earth. When we live in harmony
with all things, our lives progress more smoothly and we find
easier to achieve our goals.
There are three
types of lucks, called ”Trinity of
Luck”:
i.
Heaven Luck
– One is born with this
luck. The influence of starts & planets on our destiny or the
retribution or reward one receives for the deeds of past
life. This type of luck is difficult to change.
ii.
Mankind Luck
– This is the luck we
draw, by really working hard with devotion and dedication i.e.
'Karma’.
iii.
Earth luck
– This is the luck
that we draw from the places we live and work in. This part
of the luck may be changed with the use of ‘Feng Shui’.
2.
Systems used in Feng Shui
The most followed
school (system) in Feng Shui is the
Compass School.
This school is based on a combination of the ‘Lo-Shu’-magic
square and the ‘Pa-Kua’- grid.
(1)
The Lo-Shu magic square
This consists of numbers 1to
9, each number used only once. You may add the numbers in any
of the horizontal or vertical line or diagonally and the
answer in always 15.

The effect may be enhanced by the use of green colour or by
placing Jade plants.
4.
The Elements.
All energy of the
universe remains in balance. There are fine basic elements,
water, wood, fire, earth and metal. They form Continuous
Cycle. Understanding these will enhance the potency of
Feng-Shui.
(I)
The cycle of Generation:

|
·
Wood
nourishes fire,
·
Fire
burns to ashes, thus transforming to earth,
·
Earth
hardens to form metal
·
Pure
metal become water and
·
Water
nourishes wood.
Thus, the creative cycle
is completed. |
|
(II)
The
cycle of destruction:
|
P
Wood
destroys Earth,
P
Earth
soaks Water,
P
Water
quenches Fire,
P
Fire
destroys Metal and
P
Metal
cuts the Wood. |
